Richard Gomez continues to prove that his talents go far beyond the screen as he proudly brings home a silver medal with the Philippine Sporting Clays Team at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
Representing the country with pride, Gomez competed alongside teammates Carlo Martinez-Baltonado and Jed Rivilla, with the national team working under the guidance of Coach Per Magnus Pedersen. The team was further supported by Junjun Legare as armorer and Jeff Dayrit as team manager, with Clay Shooting Philippines playing a key role in the campaign.
In a heartfelt message, Gomez expressed his gratitude to the institutions and leaders who made the team's journey possible. He also gave a special appreciation to his wife, Lucy Torres-Gomez. According to Richard, she took care of the team throughout their practice sessions as well as during overseas training and competitions.
The silver medal was dedicated to the people of Ormoc, whom he currently represents in Congress, as well as to all Filipinos who continue to support local athletes.
“May we continue to achieve success in sports and reach even greater heights together,” he shared.
