Rico Blanco pays tribute to his younger brother, King Blanco, on his birthday.
OPM singer and songwriter Rico Blanco commemorated the birthday of his late brother, King Blanco, earlier this week. In an Instagram post, he shared how deeply he misses his younger brother and admitted that he still feels “many emotions” since his passing.
King Blanco would have turned 51 on August 19. To honor the milestone, OPM singer Rico Blanco shared a touching Instagram post showing himself with his nieces, including his newborn niece at his late brother's grave. Before visiting King's final resting place, Rico also picked up his niece from school.
“August 19, 2025. On your first birthday in heaven, I finally met you beautiful baby Reina,” he wrote. In the post, Rico admitted that he still has many unanswered questions since King's passing. Fans and friends flooded the comments with birthday wishes and heartfelt messages, while others praised Rico for being a caring uncle to his nieces.
King passed away in May after a battle with squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer.
Rico previously described King's illness as their “toughest battle” as a family and asked fans for prayers. He also expressed his gratitude for the love and support his late brother had received throughout his life.
