Showbiz icon Gloria Romero portrayed the role of Lola Goreng in the multi-awarded GMA program 'Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.'
January is a gloomy month for the entertainment industry especially after news broke out that beloved seasoned TV-movie actress Gloria Anne Borrego Galla Gutierrez, more popularly known as Gloria Romero has passed away.
She was 91.
One of the many projects that Lola Gloria did in her more than seven decades in show business is the award-winning weekly fantasy series Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.
Kids and kids at heart fondly remember her character in the high-rating GMA show as the fairy and grandmother Lola Goreng.
The show's director, Rico Gutierrez paid tribute to the brilliant actress in a Facebook post and expressed his love for the showbiz icon.
“Rest in peace tita Glo. We love you Lola Goreng,” Direk Rico wrote.
Meanwhile, former child actress Chlaui Malayao, who played the role of Moira, one of Lola Goreng's grandkids shared her fondest memories with Lola Goreng.
She posted on Instagram Story, “May you rest in peace our Lola Goreng.
“Thank you for being my lola, on and off cam. You treated us like your own grandkids.
“You were truly an inspiration to me. The moments we shared will always remain in our hearts. You will forever be missed by us, Lola Glo!”
Social media was also flooded with many heartfelt tributes for the legendary actress from netizens and fans, too.
