Rico Yan's mom Teresita is truly happy that her son still lives on in his fans' hearts.
Twenty years after his untimely death, late actor Rico Yan is still being remembered by his fans, which his mom Teresita Castro-Yan is extremely grateful for.
It was in March 2002, when news about Rico's sudden death shocked the local show business. He was found lifeless at the Dos Palmas Resort in Palawan, where he and his friends, Dominic Ochoa and Marvin Agustin, were having vacation.
It was later on declared that the actor died due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis. He was 27.
During a visit to the actor's grave on his death anniversary, Teresita related how she feels about people remembering his son up to this day.
In an Instagram video uploaded by a fan, Teresita was recorded saying, “I think I'm in a very unusual place, a very privileged place because Rico has gone but people still love him. I guess you cannot find anybody who is in that place. Coz I have friends who've lost their children but that's it they've lost their children. Pero si Rico, buhay, buhay, buhay. Wherever I go, whether it's here, whether it's in the States, wherever I go, I know people who still love him and I'm very very very grateful for that."
She added, “Even if he's gone, of course, we miss him, that's natural. But I think he lives in your hearts, he lives in our heart and of course, in Claudine's heart."
Claudine, who was Rico's ex-girlfriend, was also with his mom during her visit.
