Rihanna's representative confirmed that she is expecting her second child

Rihanna is pregnant with her second baby, news reports reveal, following the artist's Super Bowl 57 Halftime Show performance on Sunday (US time).

A representative for the Grammy award-winning singer confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter after her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.

In an interview before her halftime performance, she had hesitations about performing on stage but motherhood motivated her to do the 13-minute performance which did not include any outfit changes or guests.

She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I was like, 'You sure? I'm three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,'” she said.

“When you become a mom, there's something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world -- you can do anything,” she shared. “And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there's something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she added. “It's important for my son to see that.”

Rihanna admitted that playing her hits back to back in 13 minutes is no easy feat.

“The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest part -- deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. That's what the show's going to be -- it's going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way,” she said. “I think we did a pretty good job at narrowing it down,” Rihanna detailed.

She performed some of her biggest tracks including “We Found Love,” “Where Have You Been,” “Diamonds” and “Work.”

The 34-year-old artist has been busy working on her cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty and raising her nine-month-old son with musician A$AP Rocky, making her Super Bowl Halftime Show a highly-anticipated comeback.

Her previous live performance was at the 2018 Grammys where she collaborated with DJ Khaled for “Wild Thoughts.”
