Rob Gomez has spoken about the terrors of its 2024 Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) entry Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital.
Produced by renowned director Erik Matti and veteran filmmaker Dondon Monteverde, the film is based on the South Korean box office hit Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.
Dubbed the Philippines' first meta-found footage horror movie, Rob will be playing one of the ghost hunters in the film.
The actor admitted that Strange Frequencies is way more intense than the horror film he did before.
"There's a lot of intensity, there's a lot of silent intensity. Hindi katulad nung ginawa ko before na medyo action-gory. This time, ito more on abangan and kind of creepy."
He added. "Ako, habang walang nangyayari, natatakot na."
Rob, who admitted he is not a horror guy, shared that he would still want to do another one even if he already had consecutive horror films, including Shake, Rattle, and Roll Extreme and Strange Frequencies.
"Definitely! I would want to do something way different again. Kasi last time with the Shake Rattle, it was a zombie [movie]. Now, ito ghost-found footage, so I would be down."
After finishing the film, Rob figured that he can be easy to scare.
He explained, "Now, I respect the devil, they should not be provoked...ayun yung ginawa namin kaya nakakatakot, kasi we were provoking and provoking it."
Returning to the Philippines after a month of shooting in Taiwan, he finally felt at ease. He recalled that he would be lying down on his bed and would be thankful that he was now back home.
The horror film will be shown in cinemas starting December 25.
