Robi Domingo confirms his and Maiqui Pineda's wedding will push through despite the health problem of his fiancée.

TV host Robi Domingo is a source of strength for his non-showbiz fiancée, Maiqui Pineda, who is going through some health challenges after being diagnosed with a rare form of an autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis.

According to hopkinsmedicine.org, dermatomyositis is "a rare disease that causes muscle inflammation and skin rash. It's one of a group of muscle diseases that cause muscle inflammation and swelling. It's different from other muscle diseases because it also causes skin problems."

On his Instagram post on September 1, Robi accompanied Maiqui to her eye checkup because, according to the TV host, her medicine can affect her vision.

He even teased his future bride that she is now Robi D Luffy, based on the popular character named Monkey D. Luffy. from the anime One Piece.

Robi wrote, “Robi D Luffy with the captain of the heart.

“Maiqui recently had her eye check-up (because apparently the meds can affect her vision) but great to know that everything is okay.”

In a chat with the entertainment press last August 30, Robi shared that their wedding will push through despite Maiqui's health condtion. He also related that he is the one in charge planning for their big day since his fiancée is focused on getting better.

“We talked about it. Honestly, because of her condition, I was the one who told her na baka dapat nating i-delay nang kaunti. Kasi, medyo iniisip ko na yung health niya. Siya yung nagsabi, 'Don't. Give me something to hope for.' Upon hearing that, siyempre, naiyak ako, 'Hindi, lalaban tayo. Laban.'”

“Right now, she's focused on her health ngayon, ako ang groomzilla ngayon. Ako ang nagha-handle ng lahat ng mga bagay kaya medyo nakaka-pressure, nakaka-stress. But it's the details that count, na okay kailangan, 'Ako na bahala, relax ka na diyan.'”

The couple got engaged in Japan last November 2022 and last month they marked their fifth anniversary together.
