By CHERRY SUN

A day after Oscar-winning actor and comic legend Robin Williams was found lifeless, a coroner confirmed he died of asphyxia by hanging.

The preliminary findings shown in Unang Hirit said “[It] was an apparent suicide due to a hanging had taken place and that rigor mortis had set in. The inside of Mr. William’s left wrist had several acute superficial transverse cuts.”

A pocket knife was also found near the actor’s body. However, it was not confirmed if his death was related to drugs or alcohol intake.

According to his publicist, Robin has been battling severe depression. Just this July, he sought treatment in a rehab to keep his sobriety.

Before this episode and despite news that he has gone bankrupt, Robin was able to fix documents and gradually dispense his assets to his children.

Personalities here and abroad were all overwhelmed in grief to learn about the untimely demise of a well-loved actor and colleague.

But Susan Schneider finds Robin’s passing the most heartbreaking as she lost a husband and a best friend.
