Kapuso stars paid tribute to the 44 fallen Special Action Force service men in one of the segments of Sunday All Stars. Among them, Rocco Nacino had the heaviest heart as he grieved for the premature death of a relative, PO2 Nicky DC. Nacino.

In an interview with Unang Hirit, Rocco said, “Although hindi kami nagkakilala, kamag-anak namin siya. Konti lang naman ang mga Nacino.”

“Nakaramdam pa rin ako kahit papano ng lungkot. It’s still a loss of a loved one, a relative,” he continued.

He also posted a photo of PO2 Nacino on his Instagram account, saying, “Di man tayo nagkakilala, pero ang pagkawala mo ay masakit pa rin sa pamilyang Nacino. I salute you, PO2 Nicky DC. Nacino. Para sayo ang panalo ko kahapon. Rest in peace."

The actor also paid respects by dedicating his victory from a recent jiu-jitsu tournament which won him a gold medal to the fallen SAF member.

Rocco shared he found inspiration from the men in uniform for his character role in GMA’s recent drama series Hiram na Alaala.

“Dahil gumanap ako bilang isang sundalo, alam ko ‘yung pinagdadaanan nila, ‘yung takot na naramdaman nila. ‘Yun ‘yung ginagamit ko tuwing may eksena ako sa Hiram Na Alaala. Sobrang bigat ng naramdaman ko,” he said.
