
Rochelle Pangilinan is still on cloud nine after bagging the Best Supporting Actress award at Cinemalaya 21: LAYAG sa Alon, Hangin, at Unos Independent Film Festival for her remarkable portrayal as Alicia in Child No. 82: Anak ni Boy Kana.
During the awards ceremony, Rochelle couldn't hold back her tears as she received her first Cinemalaya trophy.
"Diyos ko sa lahat po ng pumili na manalo ako, maraming salamat po. Child No. 82, thank you po sa pagbigay sa akin ng ganitong klaseng chance," Rochelle said in her speech.
She continued, "Bilang nanay, lahat naman tayo gustong maging mabuti ang anak. And, si Alice na ginampanan ko ro'n, anak JM Ibarra, maraming salamat sa pagbuo bilang isang anak ko.
"Sir JD, Direk Tim sa pag-guide n'yo po sa amin during shinu-shoot natin sa Ilocos Norte, maraming-maraming salamat po."
Following her win, Rochelle took to Instagram to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her journey.
"Still feels surreal... Hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa rin lubos maisip na nangyari talaga 'to," she wrote in her post.
"Winning Best Supporting Actress at Cinemalaya-- grabe, sobrang laki ng puso ko ngayon. I poured my soul into this role, and to be recognized in this way… parang panaginip.
"Sa lahat ng naniwala, sumuporta, at nagmahal -- maraming, maraming salamat."
Rochelle extended her thanks to her family, PPL Entertainment, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, and the entire team of Child No. 82.
"This isn't just my win. It's ours. Today, I can finally say it with all my heart -- I AM AN ACTRESS."
