Ex-PBA player Roger Yap has defended himself after Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said a "former PBA player" mistreated a Pasig City personnel who was distributing financial aid to residents.
Although Yap was not named by the mayor, netizens guessed it was Yap, who also aired his side in Mariz Umali's report for 24 Oras. He clarified that he did not lash out at the Pasig City hall personnel and Mayor Vico Sotto misunderstood what really happened.
Yap said, "Ang problema lang kasi dinagdagan 'yung kuwento. Ang dumating kay Mayor, nagmumura daw ako, nagwawala daw ako diyan," he said.
Yap added that he only told the personnel that they should have distributed relief goods instead of food coupons.
He also said that he and Mayor Vico Sotto have already talked regarding the matter.
Yap said, "Ok naman.
Ang damage, nangyari na," he said.
He also pleaded for netizens to avoid online bullying.
