Oscar-nominated actress Rooney Mara is reportedly going to portray fashion icon and one of the biggest stars of Hollywood's Golden Age, Audrey Hepburn, in an upcoming biopic.

Several news agencies report that the said Audrey Hepburn biopic will be produced by Apple Studios and directed by Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino.

Aside from playing Hepburn, Mara will also serve as one of the producers of the film.

Hepburn is one of the Hollywood icons whose fame and influence continue to persist long after their death.

She died of cancer in 1993 at the age of 63 and starred in classic films such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady, and Roman Holiday.

Aside from being an actress and style icon, Hepburn is known for her humanitarian works as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old actress Rooney Mara has had several memorable roles of her own, including those in films such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Carol, which both earned her Oscar nominations.

In 2021, Mara was Oscar-nominated for Best Actress for her performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

And in 2016, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her role in Carol.

Mara recently starred in Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley alongside Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett.
