Ruffa Gutierrez and Eddie Gutierrez

Actress Ruffa Gutierrez has confirmed that her father, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez, is on a steady path to recovery.

On Thursday, December 11, Ruffa Gutierrez shared that they flew to Singapore to accompany her father, Eddie Gutierrez, for a spinal procedure and a series of medical checkups.

“Flew to Singapore to accompany Dad and ended up getting my own checkups too,” Ruffa said in her post.

In a new social media post, Ruffa shared another update regarding her father's condition.

“It's been exactly one week since Dad flew to Singapore with Mom and Mond. He didn't end up doing the original spinal procedure he went for after discovering a shocking, life-threatening infection, something we only learned about from Dr. Prem Pillay after the MRI results came in,” shared Ruffa.

Ruffa added that her dad is slowly getting better bit by bit while in Singapore, and he is still undergoing treatment.

“Inaayos na lahat, and despite everything, Dad's recovery over the past six days has been nothing short of grace,” she wrote in the caption.

She further disclosed that the family plans to return to the Philippines for the holiday season before flying back to Singapore for a series of follow-up procedures and examinations scheduled from January through March 2026.

“Dad will come home for the holidays and return to Singapore in January and March 2026 for two more procedures. He's eating again, the pain in his back is lessening, he's watching NBA Laker games, and singing Elvis Presley songs once more,” told Ruffa.

Ruffa expressed her gratitude to the Almighty for the continuous guidance and for giving her family a renewed sense of hope. “Thank you, Lord. Like life itself, we take things one day at a time. But as long as we are alive, there is always hope.”

Ruffa ended her post by expressing gratitude to those who have extended their prayers and support to the family during this challenging period.

“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagdasal, tumawag, and who were with us every step of the way. Mahal na mahal namin kayo! Have a blessed Sunday, everyone. Let's continue to spread love, always,” she wrote.
