The seven multi-talented cast members of Running Man Philippines faced the entertainment press on Saturday, August 27, during their grand media conference to promote the world premiere of the biggest reality show on Philippine TV this September 3.
Present during the Kapuso media event were Mikael Daez, Glaiza De Castro, Ruru Madrid, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, Kokoy de Santos, and Angel Guardian.
In the panel interview, they were asked about their most unforgettable experience while shooting Running Man Philippines in South Korea.
For Kapuso Drama Gem Glaiza De Castro, she stated that the memory that stuck to her was their last taping day.
'Yung after ng Running Man, 'yung mga nangyari. Siguro, parang sinemento lang din nung last day 'yung nabuong bonding namin, nabuong friendship, 'yung nabuong family.”
She continued, “Emosyonal talaga kami na parang 'yung mga Koreans nagtataka, 'Bakit sila umiiyak?' Siyempre 'yung Running Man ay known for comedy and good vibes, pero siyempre mami-miss kasi namin 'yun.
“So 'yun 'yung parang isa sa mga tumatak din sa akin na alam ko na hindi na siya mare-replicate.”
Mikael Daez a.k.a The Captain told the members of the press a special trivia that the bus they were riding going to their location was the same one used in the first few seasons of the original Running Man.
According to the Kapuso host, “Nung nagta-travel kami, I think relatable 'to sa mga nanood ng Running Man OG. 'Yung bus na ginagamit nila for the first few seasons, 'yun din 'yung bus na ginamit namin.
“And doon sa bus na 'yun siyempre in between locations, before and after tapings, doon kami nag-uusap, 'yung mga chikahan. Doon namin nararamdaman lahat ng after effects ng mga mission na ginawa namin.” Mikael added.
“I think 'yung moment namin doon sa bus sobrang memorable 'yun.”
Meanwhile, Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid described his experience doing Running Man Philippines as a great learning process.
Challenges mounting the show
Showing her immense support for this grand project of GMA Network is Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable who also attended the media conference and the Grand Fan Fest of the cast at Robinsons Manila Midtown Atrium.
She pointed out during the mediacon that the COVID-19 lockdown during the pandemic posed the biggest challenge for the production.
She recalled, “Bago pa nasara ito, 'yung contract signing nito sa GMA na nandito 'yung mga taga-SBS happened two years ago.
“It was the start of the pandemic, may mga alcohol na sila at saka dumaan na talaga sa pag-check-up 'yung mga Koreans. So, it took two years kasi we kept on moving and moving it.
“It was supposed to happen first here in the Philippines and then maybe a few scenes in Korea, kaya nga lang urong siya ng urong dahil sa dami ng lockdown.”
The delays turned out to be a blessing for GMA Network and SBS Korea since the whole team were able to thoroughly prepare to mount this big show.
Kaya medyo sa tagal ng paghihintay, maganda, nakapaghanda naman nang maigi para mai-stage 'yung Running Man ng the best way possible and the safest way possible.”
