Running Man Philippines cast members

Welcome home, Runners! Check out this exclusive report of '24 Oras' HERE.

It's good to be back!

This was the sentiment of the five cast members of the highly-anticipated reality-game show Running Man Philippines the moment they arrived in Manila, after their six-week work trip shooting for the show.

Glaiza De Castro, Buboy Villar, Kokoy de Santos, Angel Guardian, and Lexi Gonzales were interviewed exclusively by GMA News, when they arrived at the airport. All of them were grateful for the opportunity to do this project, a co-production between GMA-7 and SBS Korea.

Glaiza told 24 Oras, “Excited din kami na mai-share 'yun sa tao. Kung sino kami at kung ano 'yung mga natutunan namin sa sarili namin. Sobrang grateful kami sa GMA-7 for giving us this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with the amazing team. Ang dami namin natutunan sa kanila, actually at ang dami namin binaon talaga dito.”

Bubble Gang heartthrob Kokoy de Santos admitted during his interview that he had mixed emotions as they finally ended their taping in South Korea.

“Medyo mixed emotions, kasi masaya kasi makakauwi na, makakasama mo na uli 'yung pamilya mo, pero sad kasi, parang napamahal ka na rin doon sa Korea,” Kokoy shared.

Meanwhile, Sparkle beauty Lexi Gonzales was in awe that they were able to experience the culture of the country while doing their exciting missions for Running Man Philippines.

Lexi explained to 24 Oras, “As in sobrang surreal, 'yung system na ginawa ng SBS pinapa-experience nila sa amin 'yung culture ng Korea while we're doing our mission.”

Comedian Buboy Villar and Angel Guardian added that they are going to miss the people they have worked with in South Korea.

Lahat! [pati] 'yung mga cameraman, lahat 'yun din mami-miss naming and also the missions siyempre.”

Flooding in South Korea

The Running Man Philippines cast members also witnessed before they flew back to the Philippines the torrential rains that affected South Korea.

GMA News Online quoted a report from Seoul's Yonhap News Agency saying that the downpour, which began on Monday (August 8), was the heaviest rainfall in the country in 80 years.

Glaiza shared what they experienced and even some of their interpreters couldn't return home because of the horrible weather.

She recalled, “Medyo kinabahan lang nga kami, kasi umuulan all day. And nakita nga namin na may mga kasamahan kami na staff namin na mga Koreans, mga interpreters namin na affected by the floods. So, na stranded sila, hindi sila nakauwi after the taping.”

“But we're very thankful na nakauwi kami ng safe at walang nagkasakit sa amin, dahil may COVID cases pa rin.”
