Ruru Madrid is now leaner and sporting an edgy new hairstyle for his upcoming series, 'Lolong.'
As the lock-in taping of his upcoming action adventure series Lolong inches closer, Kapuso leading man Ruru Madrid is steadily getting more into character.

To play the titular Lolong, a young man with the unique ability to communicate with a huge crocodile named Dakila, Ruru worked on getting leaner for a more sculpted physique.
He has been sharing photos and videos of his progress on his Instagram account.
Ruru has been regularly working out with his coach Ghel Lerpido.
He has also changed his diet to help him achieve his body goals.
"Right now I'm doing carb cycling--four days na low-carb. Basically pinakamalakas na carb intake ko is 50 grams a day. Ang protein ko 200 grams daily," he explained in a previous interview.
"Mayroon akong one day na 300 grams na carbs. Medyo tricky kasi first time ko ginawa itong diet na ito but effective naman so far. At least nakakakain pa rin ng tama," he adds.
Ruru's most recent selfie shows off how his hard work has paid off.
Aside from his body transformation, he also changed his hairstyle to fit the character. He now sports an edgier look with an undercut hairstyle.
The lock-in taping for Lolong, the biggest action-adventure series on Philippine primetime this 2021, is set to begin this July.
Ruru will be joined by his two leading ladies, Shaira Diaz and Arra San Agustin.
