Actor Ryu Jun-yeol bas broken his silence on his past relationship with actress Han So-hee.
The two were embroiled in controversy as cheating allegations surfaced after they confirmed their relationship, months after Ryu Jun-yeol's breakup with longtime girlfriend, actress and K-pop idol Hyeri.
During the press conference for his upcoming drama The 8 Show, he was asked about his breakup with Hyeri and Han So-hee.
Ryu Jun-yeol said, "During the issues related to my private life at that time, posts about me appeared on social media without my consent or will. I thought the best response was not to answer each one but to remain silent and bear the resulting criticism. By doing my best, I mean that facing criticism was more appropriate than explaining my stance in detail. I believe discussing personal matters here could harm my colleagues," The Korea Times reported on Sunday.
He added, "I also took the opportunity to read the public criticism after attending a golf event. It served as a chance for self-reflection," Ryu continued. "This has been a period of great contemplation since my debut. Since it's a personal matter, I believe there will be another opportunity to discuss this in an appropriate setting."
Ryu and Hyeri dated for around eight years before breaking up in 2023.
Ryu then dated Han So-hee, but the pair broke up in March 2024 after only two weeks of dating. Many speculated that they two cheated on Hyeri which Han So-hee firmly denied.
The 8 Show will premiere on May 17. The series will tell the story of eight people trapped in a secret location divided into eight floors, where they will participate in a dangerous show that will earn them a huge amount of money.
