Ryza Cenon and Arra San Agustin

Ryza Cenon and Arra San Agustin have landed major roles in the upcoming GMA Prime series 'Hari ng Tondo,' headlined by Ruru Madrid and Dennis Trillo.

StarStruck Season 2 Ultimate Female Survivor Ryza Cenon created a buzz this week after it was announced that she would be making her highly anticipated return to GMA Network through the upcoming GMA Prime series Hari ng Tondo, topbilled by Ruru Madrid and Dennis Trillo.

Asked what convinced her to accept the project with her former home network, Ryza shared in an interview with 24 Oras: “First time ko makakatrabaho si Ruru [Madrid], and si Kuya Dennis (Trillo) naman, nakatrabaho ko na before. Bata pa ako noon. 'Tsaka gusto ko rin ang story, and isa talaga sa mga favorite kong gawin ang action.”

Meanwhile, Sparkle actress Arra San Agustin admitted feeling pressured yet excited to be part of the star-studded cast of Hari ng Tondo.

The series also marks her reunion project with former leading man Ruru Madrid, whom she previously worked with in the hit action series Lolong.

“Number one, nandito si Kuya Dennis, si Ruru, tapos star-studded pa yung mga kasama. So, may konting pressure. Actually, may pressure talaga! Pero at the same time, sobrang happy ko kasi napabilang ako doon,” Arra said.

In his interview with 24 Oras, Isko said he hopes the series will showcase the positive side of Tondo and the inspiring stories of the people who grew up there.

“Excited ako na ma-share naman yung maraming mabubuti at magagandang nangyari sa buhay ng isang tao, lalo na sa mga batang ipinanganak at lumaki sa Tondo.”
