Filipino actor Ricardo Cepeda recently reunited with his family after 11 months in jail due to an alleged syndicated estafa case.
His partner, Marina Benipayo, announced his release with a joyful video of them dancing to Elvis Presley's "Don't Be Cruel."
On September 19, another family member expressed excitement and relief at seeing him again in their humble home. Ricardo's daughter, Sachi Go, shared her thoughts on her father's case and the hardships she and her family endured on her Facebook page.
Along with the video of her parents, Sachi wrote, "Some positivity to bless your feed. About a year ago, my father was taken to jail for a crime he didn't commit. This felt like an affront to justice, made personal. How could evil men roam free and innocent men have their lives overturned just like that?"
She continued, "It would've been easy to fall into a pit of bitterness and despair. Admittedly, there were times when I felt the jadedness grow inside me. No good deed goes unpunished, I'd think to myself."
Sachi expressed her admiration for her father's strength in the face of injustice. "That said, dad remained strong, positive, and resilient through this whole ordeal. We knew he was facing the hardest challenge. We knew if anyone was struggling, it would be him. But not once did he let up. Even if there were moments he shared how tired he felt, he remained steadfast, somehow able to pluck faith out of this moment and choosing to see the best in others when weaker men would assume the worst."
She also emphasized, "Patience. Kindness. Honesty. These are at the core of his character, and they came out stronger than ever. The light kept shining through when the situation would have so easily dimmed it."
Ricardo's daughter shared her relief at her father's return and noted that their tough experiences made her stronger and wiser."This week, he has finally been released. It was tempting, through all these months, to go on a tirade of why it's taken this long. Instead, I am overjoyed.
"From his example, this last year has changed me for the better. Small problems are just that, and they always pass. Suffering is never an excuse to become a horrible person to other people. And even when the world flings the worst of its judgment and lies your way, the only thing that matters is the truth - and those who matter most will know it."
She concluded her message by describing their celebration, not out of wonder but because they truly believed in her father's innocence. She called the post an "honor and relief" and expressed excitement at reuniting with him.
It can be recalled that Ricardo was arrested on October 7, 2023, in connection with the estafa case filed against him. His stepson, Joshua de Sequera, stated that the actor is not connected with the sales company involved and was merely hired as its brand ambassador.
Ricardo's case is still ongoing, but the court has permitted his release after posting bail. His twin brother, Robert Go, shared that they established a fundraiser to raise awareness about his brother's case and other similar issues affecting innocent people worldwide.
