Sandra Lemonon on her wedding preparations: “It hasn't been a smooth sailing nor easy”
Miss World Philippines 2016 fourth runner-up Sandra Lemonon experienced a roller coaster of emotion before tying the knot with former Barangay Ginebra player Sol Mercado in Bali, Indonesia last September 8.
In her lengthy post on Instagram a week after the ceremony, Sandra shared that they had to deal with a health emergency when their son Zaiah Rafael Mercado or Z suffered a seizure due to a high fever the night before their wedding.
According to the information provided by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Febrile seizures are seizures or convulsions that occur in young children. They are triggered by a fever typically above 101 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 degrees Celsius). Seizures may happen during illnesses like colds, flu, or an ear infection.
Sandra recalled on Instagram, “What a journey has it been to get to this very moment…
“It hasn't been a smooth sailing nor easy as we had to face many hardships together (little Z had experienced a seizure the night before our wedding due to his high fever tummy bug) yet on the day of our wedding we could feel the strength/guidance/love of your papa & God as they were holding our hands every step of the way.”
The former beauty queen also talked about the importance of September 8 in their lives.
“September 8th 2024 (Year 8 & the Passing anniversary of your papa) was truly surreal/nerve-wracking yet one of the most magical moments we have ever experienced together…
“[Eight ] 8 has always been our number ️ (now maybe I can finally be your 10 little inside joke when me and Solomon used to date he would always tell me I was an 8/10 until I got married to him I would be a 10 ).” Sandra explained.
She added, “Beyond grateful for the outpouring love in the air & in every speech shared that night… we are truly blessed to be united as 1 & to have shared this moment with the people who we call family
“We did it, my love… Only the two of us know what it took from us to be where we are.”
“To continuously finding each other and saying I do in many other lifetimes ️ (maybe in the next one let's find each other earlier).”
Mr. and Mrs. Mercado announced their engagement in March 2022 and they welcomed their son Z on June 21, 2022.
