The Kapuso actress is one of the local celebrities with a huge TikTok following.
First Yaya lead star Sanya Lopez took home the Top Celebrity Award in the first-ever TikTok Awards Philippines 2021 held tonight, July 4.
Sanya won the award alongside fellow actress Andrea Brillantes and the Pinoy pop group SB19.
The Kapuso actress currently has a whopping 10 million TikTok followers.
“Thank you! Maraming, maraming salamat po sa award na ito. Akalain n'yo 'yon umpisa pa lang, for entertainment, for fun lang naman 'yong ginagawa natin. Pero hindi ko po inakala na makaka-receive ako ng award from TikTok. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” said Sanya in her acceptance speech.
The TikTok Awards Philippines aims to recognize content creators for their creativity in using the platform and ability to inspire and impress the public.
Nominees were selected based on user votes, cast by the TikTok community on the TikTok Awards Campaign Page last June.
“I'm very happy and surprised. Di ko akalain na aabot din ako ng 10 million. It started lang talaga na ine-enjoy ko lang yung paggawa ng TikTok. And I didn't expect na aabot ng ganito,” Sanya told GMANetwork.com back in May.
“Hindi ko alam na may mga nagkakagusto sa mga ginagawa kong TikTok. So happy to see na nag-e-enjoy sila.”
