Continued exposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, sunburn and even skin cancer. Putting on sunblock is still one of the best ways to protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays.

"Kahit na mataas ang tinatawag mo na SPF (sun protection factor), hindi mo rin makukuha ang proteksiyon na pina-promise ng sunscreen na 'yun kung hindi enough ang ilalagay mo sa iyong katawan," says dermatologist Dr. Jean Marquez.

It is recommended to put about half a teaspoon of sunblock on body parts such as the back, neck, chest, stomach, face and on each arm, while about one teaspoon is recommended for each leg.

"Sabi ng mga expert, 30 minutes daw bago tayo sumalang sa ilalim ng araw, kailangan meron na tayong in-apply na sunscreen," says Kapuso actress Sanya Lopez as she demonstrates the proper way to put sunblock.

She also made sure to put sunblock on the body part that most people forget to protect from the sun.

"Siyempre, huwag nating kakalimutang lagyan 'yung ears natin para pumantay sa face natin," she adds.
