Intermittent Fasting (IF) is one of the popular health and fitness trends in the world. According to Healthline, it is "an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. It doesn't specify which foods you should eat but rather when you should eat them.”
The Kapuso Artist of the Month for January revealed that she was influenced by her brother, Kapuso hunk Jak Roberto, to try IF. However, the 23-year-old actress admitted that she was worried about trying it at first.
“Natatakot ako before kasi, feeling ko noong bata ako, nagkaroon ako ng ulcer. So 'pag ganun 'diba, bawal magutom. Kailangan palaging may laman yung sikmura,” she said.
However, since IF worked well on Jak, she decided to finally consider it along with Ketogenic Diet.
“Later on, nasasanay na 'yung katawan ko, 'yung sikmura ko na wala kang kinakain for 16 hours. Tapos, eight hours kang pwede kumain,” she added.
Sanya has been on intermittent fasting since 2017. But for her, she does not require herself to follow a strict pattern.
“Nag-iiba 'yung oras ko kung kailan ako matapos kumain. Kasi minsan hindi naman talaga ako kumakain ng saktong oras, so medyo naa-adjust 'yung oras. Hindi ko talaga sinusunod 'yung schedule,” she explained.
The Ginebra San Miguel 2020 calendar girl is definitely a body goal. And for those who want to embark on intermittent fasting, Sanya shared a few tips on her own approach.
Sanya stressed that it is best that you should first consult your doctor before changing your lifestyle.
“Kumonsulta muna [sa mga doctor], kasi baka may mga iba na hindi pwede mag-intermittent fasting. So, make sure na puwede sa inyo, at the same time, okay siya sa body niyo,” she noted.
As mentioned above, she does not follow a strict schedule for IF. She even has cheat days!
“Mga dalawang araw - Saturday and Sunday. 'Yun 'yung pinaka-cheat day ko para hindi nasasanay 'yung katawan ko sa intermittent fasting. Para kasing hindi na siya nagwo-work kapag sanay na 'yung body mo.
“Binalik ko ulit 'yung mga food ko na puwede, pero konti-konti lang. And, 'yung kamote. Mas marami 'yung kamote kaysa sa ulam talaga.
“Tiis-tiis lang talaga. And then later, kumain kayo, pero huwag ninyong biglain kasi delikado 'yun,” she said.
