"For us, honestly, this exact venue, maybe five years, six years ago or more, during that time, no one really actually considered, or no anything about P-pop. So, we were roasted by a lot of media, and they told us, 'How are you gonna introduce P-pop to the world or to the Philippines?" kuwento ni Josh.
"During those times, unplanned s'ya e, na parang they were stereotyping us na copycats. Nagkaroon pa kami ng kaunting discussion, 'How are we gonna call ourselves?' I said, 'P-pop po. P-pop po ang tawag sa amin.' Kasi ginagawa kaming K-pop Filipino.
"We respect all genres and get inspiration from them din naman. We're not gonna deny that. But syempre 'yung parang feeling na na-stereotype ka, it hurts us kasi we're Filipinos, di ba? Right now, it's given. We don't really have to say a lot. It's more than enough for us na na-introduce, na-inspire naman 'yung mga tao to join this movement," dagdag ni Josh.
But, who can tell that? Even if you're a solo artist... or kung ano ang ginagawa mo, would you consider yourself as doing P-pop, but in reality, you're doing pop music in the Philippines?
"I'll leave that to the artist din, and I'll leave that to everyone, na to think about it. We might have accidentally, or it has been maybe there ever since, but maybe accidentally created a genre. But right now, we're very proud to tell everyone na this is a movement. And, this is going to change, the Philippines, and this industry."
Para ma-distinguish siya all over the world."
