Sparkle actor and volleyball player John Vic de Guzman recently shared exciting news with his followers: the 2016 horror film Seklusyon, his very first acting project, is now available on Netflix.

He wrote on social media, "From court to screen [nine] years later, my first-ever acting project in 2016, SEKLUSYON has landed on Netflix! Back then, all I knew was volleyball -- but with confidence and the trust of @vpglobal_management and @realitymmstudios , a new path was born. Forever grateful. Don't miss it on Netflix!"

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Erik Matti, Seklusyon is a Gothic supernatural horror film produced by Reality Ente1rtainment. The movie features a star-studded ensemble cast including Rhed Bustamante, Neil Ryan Sese, Ronnie Alonte, Lou Veloso, Phoebe Walker, Dominic Roque, Elora Españo, John Vic de Guzman, JR Versales, Jerry O'Hara, Sherry Lara, and Teroy Guzman.

The story centers on a group of deacons sent to a remote monastery for a week of seclusion, a traditional rite meant to test their devotion before priesthood. Their faith is challenged when they encounter a mysterious girl, Anghela Santa Ana (played by Rhed Bustamante), whose supposed healing miracles reveal sinister secrets.

Set in 1947, the film builds its chilling atmosphere through the unsettling mystery of Anghela's miracles. Each time she heals the sick, a disturbing black liquid drips from her mouth, leaving the characters, and the audience, to question whether her powers are divine or demonic.

This was Matti's third consecutive entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), following Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 (2014) and Honor Thy Father (2015), the latter of which drew controversy after being disqualified from the Best Picture category. Upon its release, Seklusyon became one of the most celebrated entries of the 2016 MMFF, winning nine awards including Best Director for Matti.

Seklusyon also earned Best Child Actress (Rhed Bustamante), Best Supporting Actor (Lou Veloso), Male Celebrity of the Night (Ronnie Alonte), Best Screenplay, Best Sound Design, amd Special Jury Prize.
