SEVENTEEN scoups comeback

CARATS are excited about S.Coups' comeback.

PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed on March 1, 2024 that SEVENTEEN's leader S.Coups has been exempted from doing his military service due to his injury.

Korean news site Soompi quoted PLEDIS that said: “Due to a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee joint, S.Coups underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery. Because it was a major surgery, he has been undergoing physical rehabilitation therapy for a long time, starting from last year up until now. As a result, he was classified as Grade [V].”

According to Chapter Three, Article 12 of the Korean Military Service Act, “Those incapable of entering active or supplemental service, but capable of entering the second citizen service, shall be determined at Grade V;”

Due to this, S.Coups shall only have to serve in the military during wars because of this condition, according to the Korean Military Service Act.

In August 2023, PLEDIS Entertainment released a notice regarding S.Coups' injury that he sustained while shooting content, which resulted in a torn anterior cruciate ligament. This led him to put his activities to a halt, including promotions and SEVENTEEN's recent Follow Tour together with his co-member Jeonghan.

After almost seven months, PLEDIS announced that S.Coups and Jeonghan will resume their activities from March onwards after being cleared by medical professionals.

They said last February 23, 2024, “As a result of receiving constant care and taking sufficient rest, both artists have made a noticeable recovery. They have been cleared by medical professionals to resume their scheduled activities as long as they avoid straining their bodies.”

S.Coups and Jeonghan's first activity is SEVENTEEN's encore concert "Follow Again to Incheon." However, there may be restrictions and limitations in their performances to prevent any more injuries.

S.Coups and Jeonghan are members of the South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN known for their hit songs “HOT,” “Don't Wanna Cry,” and “SUPER.” According to PLEDIS, they will announce their comeback and newest release at a “later date.”
