Over the past few years, K-pop's popularity has grown exponentially, taking over and sometimes even dethroning big names in the music charts.
Last Tuesday, August 6, MTV announced the nominees for this year's Video Music Awards (VMA) and as expected, several K-pop acts are on the list.
With her recent comeback to the music scene, Lisa of BLACKPINK received a total of four nominations for her latest single “ROCKSTAR”. It was released on June 28, 2024, accompanied by an edgy and cool music video.

Aside from Lisa, BTS member Jungkook is nominated for Best Collaboration for his hit debut song “Seven” featuring American rapper Latto. Jungkook is also nominated for the Best K-pop category.
