Shamcey Supsup on running for office: 'We have already won, because we never lost who we are'

Former beauty queen and aspiring public servant Shamcey Supsup has gracefully accepted her loss in the recent 2025 elections, where she ran as Pasig City's first district councilor.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Shamcey extended her gratitude to everyone who stood by her campaign.

"We have already won, because we never lost who we are. In every step of this journey, we chose integrity over shortcuts, truth over convenience, and compassion over division. We stood firm in our principles, spoke up for what we believed in, and remained grounded in purpose," she wrote.

She then reflected on what her candidacy meant, emphasizing that her campaign was about "proving that dignity, honesty, and heart still have a place in public service.”

Shamcey concluded her message simply yet sincerely, "Thank you for walking with me."

Followers of Shamcey flooded the comment section with supportive messages and love. Celebrities such as MJ Lastimosa and Kervin Lao also sent praises and comforting messages to Shamcey on the post.

As of 5 p.m. yesterday, based on partial and unofficial results, Shamcey garnered 39,452 votes, trailing behind other top candidates like Simon Tantoco (103,641), Kiko Rustia (99,767), and Pao Santiago (87,855).

In this year's midterm elections, Shamcey ran as an independent candidate. Last April, she resigned from her political party, KAYA THIS, following a controversy involving a fellow member's remark about solo parents.
