Veteran singer-actress Sharon Cuneta recently revealed that she underwent a spine procedure in Singapore after dealing with persistent pain for the past two years.
In a Facebook post, Sharon shared that she had been thinking about whether to open up about what she had gone through before deciding to update her fans. The Megastar said many may have heard that she recently traveled to Singapore, but clarified that the trip was not for leisure. “I wish I went there to vlog, but actually, it was for medical reasons. My spine,” she wrote, explaining that she had been under pain management for about two years due to discomfort in her right hip and leg.
She also said she wished she had been able to see her doctor in Singapore sooner. Sharon revealed that she underwent a procedure that helped address the pain she had been experiencing. Although she is now feeling better, she said she is still in the process of recovering. In addition, further tests showed that she would need another procedure in the future to address issues in her neck involving the C4 and C5, and C5 and C6 areas of her spine.
Despite the health concerns, Sharon reassured fans that she is doing well and that doctors were able to determine the root of the problem. “Don't stress about it. What's important is that I am okay, the pain has been dealt with and we got to the root of the problem/s. Praise God,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sharon also took the opportunity to thank the medical team who took care of her during her stay at Mount Elizabeth Medical Center. She expressed gratitude to the nurses who assisted her, especially the Filipino staff, and to her doctor, Prem Pillay, for his expertise and kindness.
The singer-actress also sent her love to her fans, affectionately known as Sharonians. Sharon said she missed them and hoped they were all doing well as she continues her recovery.
