SHINee's Minho cements the dark concept of his new song with the release of its moody music video.
Shawols, the moment you've all been waiting for is here! A few days after SHINee's Minho dropped his new album CHASE, the so-called 'flaming charisma' finally released the music video of its title track which embodies the same name.
"Chase" is a hip-hop R&B song that showcases a piano loop and arpeggio synth sounds which give off its sentimental and stylish mood. According to Minho, the song is about chasing a person in their dreams and feeling empty after waking up to the reality that they can't reach them anymore.
The accompanying music video portrays a weary Minho who's reminiscing his memories with a woman. As the music video progresses, we see him looking for the girl and getting beaten up continuously. Towards the end, we realize that the woman he's been searching for is already dead. Minho spirals into his thoughts and faces a tragic fate by the end.
Fans commended Minho's acting in the music video as well as its overall concept. During his live commentary, the K-pop idol admitted that he went inside the editing room to give some ideas and opinions to the team. He felt that the first draft wasn't good enough for the fans so he gave his recommendations. It was also Minho's idea to not include the choreography in the music video and focus on the story instead.
There's no doubt that Minho gave his all for his first solo album. He, once again, proved that he's a versatile artist who cares deeply enough about what he does. Congratulations, Minho!
