The long wait is over! SHINee's Onew is making a new start in his career with the newly established agency GRIFFIN Entertainment.
After a long hiatus due to health issues since June 2023, SHINee's leader Onew is back to start a new chapter in his solo career.
On Wednesday, April 3, Onew took to Instagram to share his new profile photos with his new agency GRIFFIN Entertainment, along with the caption, "You've been waiting for a long time, right? Thank you!"
On the same day, GRIFFIN Entertainment announced that they had signed an exclusive contract with Onew and expressed their full support for the K-pop superstar's fresh start.
Onew is the first artist of the newly established agency, which aims "to provide a sanctuary where artists can thrive and let their distinct gifts and talents illuminate the world."
Despite not renewing his contract with SM Entertainment, which has been his home for over 16 years, Onew will continue his group activities with SHINee under the label.
As of writing, "SHINee" and "Onew" are trending on X (formerly Twitter) with over 96,000 posts. In these posts, Shawols expressed their support for Onew's new solo pursuits.

Onew (real name, Lee Jin-ki) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, actor, host, and the leader of Princes of K-pop SHINee.
In December 2018, Onew launched his solo career with the release of his first EP VOICE along with the lead track "Blue." He has since released his second mini album Dice in 2022 and first full-length album Circle in 2023.
