SHINee's Onew lends his voice to the soulful track “Shadow” as part of the original soundtrack of K-drama 'A Week Before Farewell.' See it HERE:
Weeks before their much-awaited comeback on February 22, SHINee leader Onew releases his single “Shadow” as part of the original soundtrack of the Korean drama A Week Before Farewell.
A Week Before Farewell, which will be released on February 5, tells the story of a woman who is faced with the heartbreaking fate of having to part ways with the love of her life to save him.
The K-drama, which contains all the roller-coaster emotions of love -- from happiness to heartbreak -- stars actress Kwon Yu-ri as Park Ga-ram and actor Hyun Woo as Kim Seon-jae as the ill-fated lovers.
Complementing the upcoming emotional drama is Onew's single “Shadow,” an acoustic ballad that tells the main characters' heartbreaking situation.
Furthermore, the lyrics compare the feelings of the heart to a shadow, as evidenced by the lines, “Like a shadow, I'll always be with you / I'll light up the light on your way / Believe in me. / Always be with you / Wherever your eyes are on, I'm standing behind you.”
At this writing, “Shadow” is available on iTunes, YouTube music, Melon, and other various music platforms.
Onew, along with his other SHINee members Minho, Key, and Taemin, has been busy preparing for their comeback this coming February 22 for their album “Don't Call Me.”
The group's label, SM Entertainment, confirmed the reports on Monday, February 1, that the group will release its seventh album containing nine tracks of various genres.
Many fans already got a glimpse of what's in store for them in the new album during their live stream event “The Ringtone: SHINee is Back” with the performance of its B-side track “Marry You.”
This will be the group's first release since their last album in 2018, “The Story of Light.”

Aside from their back-to-back preparations, SHINee has also launched “SHINee is Calling,” which allows fans from all over the world to send messages to the group and will run until February 8.
