Shuvee Etrata calls for help for Cebuanos

Kapuso actress and former PBB housemate, Shuvee Etrata, shares her sentiment on the Cebu situation after the recent typhoons and calls for help.

In her recent Instagram post, Sparkle actress and proud Cebuana Shuvee Etrata wrote, “Cebu isn't just another place, it's home,” as she shared a message of hope and called for help for all Cebuanos greatly affected by the two typhoons, 'Tino' and 'Uwan'.

Cebu is struggling after Typhoons Tino and Uwan severely devastated the province. The recent typhoon disaster caused massive flooding which caused a number of casualties, missing individuals, and extensive damage to homes and agriculture.

Shuvee shared her personal connection to Cebu and her heartbreak after seeing her beautiful hometown affected by the typhoons.

“Alam niyo ba guys, I've always adored the sunset in my home. Sobra kaganda and palagi ko pinagyayabang. I carry Cebu with me wherever I go, kaya masakit makita ang kapwa ko Cebuanos maging biktima ng pinsala ng Typhoon Tino at Typhoon Uwan,” Shuvee wrote in her caption.

“It breaks my heart to see the images, hear the cries, and recognize the faces from my own community,” she added.

Shuvee also shares that she's praying that all of the Filipinos who are affected by the recent calamities will still find hope. “Magtulungan po tayong bumangon,” she wrote.

She also asks the people to rise with action and accountability. “Hindi pwedeng paulit-ulit na lang ang kwento ng pagdurusa at kapabayaan,” she said.

Shuvee also encouraged everyone to consider helping the typhoon victims. “To my friends, followers, and everyone reading this — if you have even a little to give, please consider extending help. Some lost not just their homes and livelihood, but also their loved ones.” Shuvee wrote in her caption.

She ended her message with a collective call for hope. According to her: “A few pesos, a few cans, a few prayers — they matter. Together, let's rebuild not just houses, but hope.”
