Actress Shuvee Etrata bared her heart in the Magpakailanman episode Pinoy Big Breadwinner: The Shuvee Etrata Story, hosted by Mel Tiangco. The emotional feature took viewers through her real-life struggles growing up in a difficult home, and how she found the strength to rise above it.

During the interview, Mel asked her, "May mga nanonood din sa atin na toxic din ang pamilya, kung tawagin, ano na ba ang mga natutunan mo na at this point in your life? After going through that journey, the hardships with your family?"

Shuvee's answer struck a chord with many, "Siguro ang maipapayo ko lang especially for people who grew up in a very dysfunctional family, you should really cut the curse. Break the generational curse. You're able now to do it, you're able to change, you're able to become better."

She continued, "Because now we're in a generation na it's so easy to be knowledgeable about things. There's online platforms, mas madali na po tayong matuto ngayon. Mas matatalino na rin ang mga bata ngayon. So, sana lang po, you start within yourself. If you grew up with a dysfunctional family, you now have the power to break the chain, to make your family better. Nasa sa'yo lang 'yan, huwag ka lang tumigil, huwag ka lang mapagod, huwag kang sumuko, gaganda rin ang buhay nating lahat."

Her message resonated deeply, with viewers calling the episode “an eye-opener.”
