Aside from promoting her new single “Daisies,” the LA-based singer-songwriter Tiana Kocher also looks forward to her grandfather Juan Ponce Enrile's 100th birthday celebration on February 14.

“100 years, I can't miss that,” said Tiana during an intimate interview with GMANetwork.com and other entertainment media on Monday, January 29.

Growing up, she recalled her grandpa would always ask her to sing.

“All the time. Every time there's guests, he always asks me to sing,” Tiana related.

“It's always something from a musical, something that my lola can sing as well. 'Colors of the Wind' from Pocahontas, I'm always singing that.”

Of course, Tiana will perform a couple of songs for JPE on his birthday.

“I actually have two songs. Neither of them are actually from the musicals, but it's two songs that I can think he's gonna like,” said the 24-year-old music artist.

She also mentioned that her mom, Katrina Ponce Enrile, is arranging a family gathering to celebrate the centenary of her grandpa's birth.

“It's really just celebrating his life. One hundred years is such an amazing accomplishment and not everyone in the world can say that they've reached a hundred,” she said.

Meanwhile, Tiana said her lolo is still in great shape despite his age.

“He's amazing. He's been walking, sunbathing, doing his puzzles. He's so sharp, sharper than me,” she described the current chief presidential legal counsel.

When asked what she thinks are her grandpa's secret, Tiana replied, “You know what, I've never seen him eat anything fried, he's always drinking warm water. He's just very healthy… soups and lots of seafood. He also keeps his mind stimulated, so he's always reading, he's always writing, he's always playing games on his iPad and stuff like that.”

In connection to his age, Tiana confirmed that her family knows about the internet memes featuring her grandfather.

“We see all the meme, we share… we have a family group chat. We're always kinda laughing with all the memes. My favorite was… I saw this tweet where JPE outlives KathNiel, that's my favorite,” she said laughing.

How about JPE's reaction?

Tiana answered, “He definitely laughs, but I don't think he understands it, like the humor, but he has seen it. Like the 'dinosaur' one, he's seen it. And he just [laughs]. He likes that one.”

Aside from the senate president, Tiana is also related to the late singer-actress Armida Siguion-Reyna.
