Despite having a reliable car for seven years, Slater Young needs to say goodbye to his old friend. Find out why.

When one's family grows big, ,changes around the home and in a couple's lifestyle must happen to accommodate the new additions to the family.

That's what seems to be happening to Slater Young, who recently realized that he has to let go of an old friend: his SUV of seven years in favor of a more spacious, family-friendly vehicle.

In an Instagram post on January 12, Slater posted a picture of himself with his head resting on the hood of his old "buddy."

“Saying goodbye to my buddy today. Thank you for the memories,” he captioned the post, referring to his white, Toyota FJ Cruiser.

The former actor revealed that he first got his FJ Cruiser, when he and his wife, Kryz Uy, started dating. He said that it has been “nothing but reliable” ever since.

“Kailangan na lang talaga mag move on to a more family-friendly vehicle,” he added.

Kryz, meanwhile, commented on his post saying goodbye to the “monster truck” to which the former actor replied with broken heart emojis.

Slater married his wife in 2019 and has had two kids since then. Their first child, Scott Knoa, was born in June 2020, and their second child, Sevi, was born in May 2022.

With his family growing, Slater then asked his followers what car should he get that can be considered “family-friendly." Friends and netizens were quick to share their ideas.

Radio DJ Slick Rick suggested that Slater should get a Land Rover Defender. However, Slater said that he doesn't have a budget for it.

Digital Content Creator Vern Enciso, on the other hand, recommended a Land Cruiser. However, Slater said in response, “Hahahaha!!!! Masmahirap pa yan bilhin kesa hermes na bag!”

One netizen even suggested getting a hybrid, a car that can be powered by either gasoline or batteries.

Despite the suggestions though, Slater has not expressed interest in any of the cars mentioned and fans will just have to wait until Slater reveals the new family car on social media.
