Another hit local film is set to premiere on Netflix this week. The 2015 film Sleepless starring Glaiza de Castro and Dominic Roco will be available in the said video streaming platform beginning September 3.

All-Out Sundays star Glaiza de Castro plays the role of Gem, an insomniac who despite being content with her work as a call center agent, feels the pressure to find a more prestigious job.

She meets Barry, played by Dominic Roco, who is a newbie in the call center industry and enters his job with hesitation in fear of not having a future in the industry.

The two become training partners at work and discover they are actually apartment neighbors. Gem and Barry develop a companionship in their daily struggles and become closer as they share their nights spent awake. Eventually, their personal secrets unravel and test their friendship.

Directed by Prime Cruz and written by Jen Chuaunsu, the film features a glimpse into a call center agent's world.

"I'm very excited about Sleepless premiering on Netflix because it's finally going to have a chance to be seen by more people.

"That's every director's dream, I think--to reach as many people as you can. And I'm hoping it can serve as a comforting hug to those in similar situations," Direk Prime shared to GMANetwork.com through Facebook Messenger.

Sleepless earned the NETPAC Jury Prize for Best Picture at the Circle Competition section of the 2015 QCinema Film Festival, with Dominic Roco also wining as Best Actor. The film was also an entry for the 2016 Osaka Asian Film Festival.
