TVXQ, Super Junior, EXO, Girls' Generation, Red Velvet. If these Korean pop groups ever ring a bell, then you've probably envisioned yourself becoming one of these global icons.
Turns out you're in luck because one of Korea's leading entertainment agencies, SM Entertainment, is holding a global audition and Filipinos can apply.
All you have to do is send your photos, videos, and audio files via email to SM Entertainment's Casting Directors.
According to the site, the e-mail subject should bear the name, age, gender, and category you'd like to apply for. The sender must attach a video file showing your dancing skills, a music file of your singing abilities, and face shots (both frontal and side) without any photoshop or retouching done.
Qualifications are very simple: You must be born between the years 2000 and 2010, regardless of nationality, race, or gender.
In 2019, SM Town launched a global audition program that included various cities throughout Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, USA, and Canada.
Through these auditions, they were able to discover some of their most prominent faces like Amber from f(x), Wendy and Joy from Red Velvet, Yuta, Mark, Renjun, and Johnny from NCT, and Ten, Lucas, Kun, and Yangyang from WayV.
SM Entertainment is one of South Korea's largest entertainment companies founded in 1995 by Lee Soo Man. SM is known for having led the global K-pop phenomenon and the musical side of “Hallyu,” also known as the “Korean Wave.”
