
Actress and artist Solenn Heussaff spent some quality time with her daughters ahead of Mother's Day.
Solenn bonded with her kids Thylane nd Maëlys while baking some chocolate chip cookies.

The recipe they used was from Solenn's good friend Maria Dolonius.
Maëlys helped with measuring and mixing while Thylane turned up later and helped with rolling the dough.

1 full unsalted butter ( 200g)
3/4 cup caster sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoon Water
1.5 tsp Vanilla bean paste (or extract)
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp kosher salt
4 oz Callebaut Dark Chocolate 54.5%
4oz Callebaut Dark Chocolate 70%
4oz Callebaut Dark Chocolate 80%
(You can just use any chocolate chips and combine the amount, but this is the BEST blend)
1.) In a mixing bowl fitted with a paddle attachment: Cream butter until pale and light. Add sugars, and beat until fluffy and voluminous, few more minutes.
2.) Whisk egg, water, and vanilla in a small bowl and drizzle into the butter mixture.
3.) Sift flour, salt, and baking soda together in a separate bowl. Add into butter mixture, dont overbeat. Turn off machine and remove paddle attachment.
4.) With a spatula, fold chocolate in by hand.
5.) Prepare cookie sheets with tin foil, dull side up. Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
6.) Using an ice cream scoop or similar, measure out 100g of cookie dough and place on sheet. Remember that these will spread to 4" diameter cookies, so I made 2 cookies per batch. Pop sheet into freezer for 15 minutes to firm up.
7.) After removing dough balls from the freezer, bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the dough has spread evenly but is still puffed up. Remove from oven and 'pan bang' a few times to create ripples. Pop back into oven and repeat that step every 2 minutes for around 6 more minutes (total about 16 mins cooking time). Edges should be golden brown and the center still soft, adjust baking time to your prefered doneness of cookie! I like mine chewy on the inside, so I take it out at about 14 minute mark. Experiment :)
8.) After removing from the oven, take the other sheet out of the freezer and pop it into the oven whilst you prepare a new batch for the freezer again. You can also save dough for later!
