
Puno ng pagmamahal sa kanyang bansa ang konsepto ni Solenn Heussaff sa kanyang second art exhibit na Kalsada.
Kuwento ni Solenn, "It’s called Kalsada, because the subjects are based on everyday people I’ve seen and met while going around the Philippines."
Dahil ito ay isang collaboration sa kanyang pamangkin na si Kaeden Small, kitang-kita pa rin na makulay ang kanyang paintings kahit malulungkot ang expressions na nakikita dito.
"The series of paintings we came up with are all so colorful, even if some of the surroundings and expressions are quite sad. It was actually Kaeden who used so much color, and I guess it kind of makes you appreciate how children naturally see things in a positive way. And that’s why I did this with him—so our people’s stories can be brought to life in a much brighter light."
Ibinahagi rin ni Solenn na ilan sa mga naging inspirasyon niya ang mga Pinoy sa Mindanao at Biri, Northern Samar. Ang kanyang kaibigan sa Sulu at ang kanyang biyahe sa Biri ang naging daan para mabuo ang ilang paintings sa exhibit na gaganapin sa Provenance Art Gallery sa Shangri-La, The Fort ngayong October 20 hanggang November 5.
Aniya, “When I stayed in Biri, I got so inspired and I took a lot of photos of the children I met. I painted some of them and they’ll also be shown in Kalsada.”
