Descendants of the Sun star Song Joong-ki was reported to be in isolation after being exposed to a COVID positive individual.
According to reports from K-entertainment site Soompi and channelnewsasia.com, the popular K-drama actor has already tested negative after undergoing preemptive testing.
Citing the official statement from Joong-ki's talent agency History D&C, he will still have to undergo isolation since he is a close contact.
Part of the statement reads, “On June 30, an acquaintance of actor Song Joong-ki was informed that they have tested positive for COVID-19, so he cancelled his schedule and underwent pre-emptive testing. Although he tested negative, he was classified as a close contact and was ordered to go into self-quarantine.”
For now, all of his activities will be temporarily suspended.
“Therefore, we will halt all his scheduled activities and follow the instructions of the disease prevention authorities.
“We ask for your understanding for causing concern to many people, and we will do our best to follow the directions and guidelines from the disease prevention authorities,”
Soompi also reported that Song Joong-ki was busy filming his upcoming movie 'Bogota.'
He recently starred in the hugely successful sci-movie 'Space Sweepers' and is the lead star in the hit K-drama series 'Vincenzo.'
The Korean drama star used to be married to fellow Descendants of the Sun actress Song Hye-kyo. They parted ways two years after their wedding in 2017, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
