KATSEYE leader Sophia Laforteza wore her Filipina pride on her sleeve as the group made their highly anticipated debut at Coachella. Performing on the Sahara stage, Sophia took a heartfelt moment to acknowledge fellow Filipinos in the crowd, visibly moved by the support.

“I'm overwhelmed with emotion. It's so beautiful. I see some people raising the Filipino flag here in Coachella. You guys are making our dreams come true,” she said, drawing cheers from the audience.

The performance marked a major milestone for KATSEYE, composed of Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae, and Megan, as they delivered fan-favorite tracks like “Touch” and “Debut.” Missing from the lineup was Manon Bannerman, who remains on hiatus to focus on her health. Despite this, the group commanded the stage with confidence, showcasing their global appeal and strong connection with fans.

Sophia's mother, actress Carla Gueverra, took to Instagram Stories to share clips of the performance, expressing her pride in her daughter's achievement. KATSEYE's debut came alongside another historic moment for the Philippines, as BINI also took the spotlight at Coachella, performing on the Mojave stage and becoming the first Filipino act to do so. Together, the two groups marked a powerful weekend for Filipino talent, making their presence felt at one of the world's biggest music festivals.
