Sophie started by talking about the weight that she gained when she was pregnant.

"I actually gained 60 pounds towards the end of my pregnancy. That's a lot of weight. That's more than the recommended weight gain," She explained

When Avianna was born, Sophie decided to consult her doctor and listen to her body before she started her journey to shed the extra weight.

"After my pregnancy, I gave myself three months until I started doing super duper light exercises lang. I started 10 to 15 minutes of walking a day on my treadmill. Not even fast walks ha. Super normal walk, like how I would walk normally if I had to go to the bathroom or the kitchen."

Sophie explained how she slowly improved her workout routine.

"Kung kaya, I kept increasing the length of time. 15, 20, 30, until I was able to do walking every day for an hour. Aside from that, I also try to add in some stretches that will be healthy for our core.

The Kapuso star continued, "Our core really gets bugbog when we're pregnant di ba? Our muscles move and stretch so I try to slowly bring them back together again, wake my muscles up, and all of that.

"I also did a little bit of weights, slowly I increased the weights that I will do or I would add exercises that I would do with some weights."

Three months after giving birth was the moment she decided to work out again. However, Sophie reminded her viewers that not all moms have the same recovery period.

"I started at three months but I just want to remind everybody that this is different for everyone. Some are able to work out six weeks after giving birth. I didn't feel ready for that so some of you can do it earlier, some have to wait a little later. You have to get approval from your doctor."

The celebrity mom stressed the importance of knowing when the body is ready to do exercise routines especially when a woman just gave birth.

"Listen to your body, when you feel ready. There's no rush naman to losing the weight and there's no pressure because we just had a baby. Our bodies are beautiful. It really needed that extra weight to carry a healthy beautiful baby. There is no rush.

Sophie admitted that she still has the excess weight, but celebrates her achievement.

"I am 5 months postpartum, and I still am over 10 pounds heavier than when I was prepregnancy. To be honest, that doesn't bother me. I work out not to lose the weight but actually just to not gain any more weight."

Sophie confessed she indulge in food that she likes even when she is working out.

"I am also still eating anything I want to eat. I still have rice with every meal, I still snack, I still indulge, I still have my sweets."

According to Sophie she is working on her body for strength, confidence, and to be comfortable when she takes care of Avianna.

"I just workout to make sure na hindi na ako mas lalaki sa 60 pounds na yun. Just to feel stronger again, feel confident again, get healthy again, get the body moving again, comfortable for my baby when I carry her and still do the demanding tasks of being a mom."
