Just yesterday, March 1, MNH Entertainment released a statement that two of their staff members have tested for novel coronavirus but was quick to note that their star Chungha tested negative after a scheduled activity in Italy.
The statement was released in Korean site Naver a few days after news broke out that a popular Korean artist was reportedly tested for coronavirus.
The Korean agency said: “Hello, This is MNH Entertainment.
“Our artist Chungha returned home from a scheduled activity in Italy on February 24. One of the staff members who accompanied her showed signs of fever and tested positive for COVID-19
“We immediately made Chungha and all accompanying personnel go into self-isolation and had them tested. One more staff member tested positive for the virus and we are taking the appropriate action for it.
“All the other staff members tested negative and Chungha also tested negative on March 1.
“Based on the results of the test, they will go self-isolation as requested by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“For the sake of safety, all scheduled activities have been canceled for the time being and we will continue to take the best possible measures and deal with the virus faithfully.
“We thank everyone who is working hard to combat the virus and we will do our best to protect our safety and health from COVID-19.”
As of this writing, Italy is now home to the biggest COVID-19 outbreak outside of Asia with more than 300 people with confirmed infections including 10 deaths.
Similarly, American mass media company 88Rising announced on Twitter that Chungha will no longer be part of the lineup for their Head in the Clouds Festival in Jakarta due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Chungha is a South Korean singer, dancer, and choreographer who became a member of the defunct girl group I.O.I. In 2017, she debuted as a solo artist and released an extended play of the song “Hands on Me.”
Aside from Chungha, Korean boy group BTS has also decided to cancel their upcoming concert in South Korea due to the coronavirus outbreak.
