Sponge Cola, Tatlong Buwan

Sponge Cola's newest single is now available on all streaming platforms.

K-drama fever is on as Filipino rock band Sponge Cola welcomed April 24 with a melancholic song entitled “Tatlong Buwan” based on the South Korean series starring Kim Ji-won and Kim Soo-hyun.

Yael Yuzon, the band's lead singer and guitarist, shared his excitement about the song which he wrote after he watched the tenth episode of Queen of Tears released last April 7. Few days later, the band flew to the filming locations of the series and shot the music video of “Tatlong Buwan.”

He wrote on Instagram: “Wrote our new song 'Tatlong Buwan' after watching episode 10 of Queen of Tears, and boom, flew in and out of Korea, and the music video is done.”

The singer also called the song a “labor of love” because of its “moving themes” which follows the story of Hong Hae-in, Baek Hyun-woo, and their efforts to save their spiraling marriage.

“[Tatlong Buwan] is just a labor of love from a fellow Queen of Tears fan. I couldn't help it; it was too moving not to write. There was an overwhelming need for catharsis.”

Meanwhile, It's Showtime host and Yael Yuzon's wife, Karylle, showed support for the band and shared snaps from their music video shoot in South Korea.

The highly-anticipated music video is yet to be released in the few days to follow.

Sponge Cola's newest single is currently available for streaming on online platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.
