Squid Game actor Oh Young-soo has been charged with sexual misdemeanor charges and is now facing a one-year jail term and is proven guilty.
A report from Korea JoongAng Daily stated the 79-year-old actor was indicted in November 2022, when a former theater group member claimed that in 2017, Oh Young-soo groped and kissed her while they were outside.
The prosecutors claimed Oh "expressed his desire for youth in an inappropriate way" while he and the victim were drinking together in 2017.
Oh Young-soo denied the sexual assault charges against him since his first trial in February 2022.
During his recent trial, he said, “It's so painful and hard to stand in this court at this age like this.”
Oh added, “It is miserable that the last chapter of my life is ending in such a way, making my whole life fall apart.”
The ruling trial will be held on March 15.
Oh Young-soo became the first South Korean actor to win an acting trophy at the Golden Globes Awards 2022.
He won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role on TV for his role in Squid Game.
