GMA Films brought back the winning team behind the 2007 hit 'Ouija,' at ang kanilang end product? Isa na namang terrifying hit! Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos provided by GMA Corporate Communications.
Sundo.

In a nutshell, the story of
Sundo revolves around Romano (
After waking up from his coma, Romano begins seeing spirits—mga sundo.
After some establishing scenes sa simula, the story gets rolling sa pagpasok ng character ni
Sunshine Dizon, si Dra. Louella. How that happens, you'll just have to watch the film to find out.
Warning sa mga weak-hearted: maraming mamatay sa pelikulang ito, and not even the main characters are safe.
Sundo is fast-paced and definitely unapologetic. Things happen quickly, and like in real life, hindi ka nito hihintayin maka-recover before delivering the next blow.
Sundo mixes in just the right amount of drama and comedy, without detracting from the horror—because first and foremost, this movie is a horror film. And it will not let you forget that sa bawa' scene na mapapanood mo.
Sundo also has a group of realistic characters: a flawed soldier, a conflicted doctor, a well-meaning young man, an optimistic teenager—it even has a jaded wannabe actress. These are the type of people you meet in real life. Which is why it's all the more scary watching them die of supernatural causes—because if these people can exist sa mundo natin, who's to say na hindi rin kayang mag-exist ng supernatural, 'di ba?

And what makes
Sundo all the more real is how the aforementioned characters are portrayed by the cast. Robin Padilla plays Romano with real battle scars, a fact that doesn't get mentioned at all in the movie, but you can see it in all of his actions.
Rhian Ramos plays a blind girl with integrity; makikita mo (pun not intended) na talagang inaral niya ang kanyang role. And Sunshine Dizon definitely handles the conflicts of Dra. Louella with ease, and with such sincerity na hindi ka magtataka sa kanyang actions throughout the film.
Katrina Halili, Mark Bautista and
Hero Angeles also deliver stellar performances, Katrina's being especially noteworthy. But we can't say why noteworthy ito dahil mai-ispoil ang kuwento, so you'll have to watch the movie to find out. Ganoon din for Mark Bautista and Hero Angeles.
At siyempre, even the supporting cast is outstanding. Playing short but marked roles are
Iza Calzado, Odette Khan, Mely Tagasa, Luz Fernandez, Glydel Mercado, Rina Reyes, and Ms. Jaclyn Jose. Kung gusto ninyong maibsan ng konti ang takot niyo habang nanunood, you can do what I did: play 'spot the actress'—the most challenging being on the lookout for Ms. Jaclyn Jose.
So handa ka na bang matakot? Stare death in the face—watch
Sundo, in theaters nationwide.
