BTS member Suga left a message for his fans as he enters the military on September 22.

BTS member Suga has reportedly entered the South Korean military as part of his mandatory military service. He has been scheduled to officially enter the military on September 22, making him the third among the K-pop boy group to join the armed forces.

The 30-year-old singer, rapper, and producer left a promising message for ARMY through fan community WeVerse.

A day before his enlistment, Suga wrote in Korean on fan community platform WeVerse, "It's about time. I'll be back after faithfully finishing my service." He also told his fans, "Be careful of the cold autumn weather. Stay healthy and see you all in 2025!"

While members Jin and J-Hope were involved in regular combat duty, Suga was deemed unfit for this and will serve his time as a social service agent, Yonhap News reported.

Though Suga's reason for assignment to a social service was not revealed, it could be related to a shoulder surgery he had in 2020, according to Yonhap.

All South Korean men under the age of 30 (exceptions may apply to certain cases) must serve around two years of military service, to prepare South Korea against possible conflict with nuclear-armed North Korea. Like Suga, those with health issues are allowed to take on alternative services.
