Whoever said Sunday is boring should eat their words, as GMA offers a new concoction, fit for your Sunday viewing palate. Brace yourselves as Carlo J. Caparas' Tasya Fantasya, makes its way to your afternoon Sunday life. Carlo J. Caparas' Tasya Fantasya, held its press launch last March 27. The venue Mowelfund in Quezon City; its garden was transformed into a beautiful spectacle of lights and flowers. It truly felt like entering a whimsical world meant to make us believe in the power of magic and love. According to director Mac Alejandre, people will surely fall in love with this new show, "Ang viability hindi lang sa character kung di sa mismong plot line ng istorya niya. Confident ang GMA na magiging magandang translation ito sa isang TV show, at ma fu-fulfill 'yung potential na ipinakita ng comics (version)." Another thing that the audience should look out for is the heart and lessons underlined in each episode of the show, "Ang gusto naming maparating ay genuine emotion mula sa Puso. Ang execution lang po niya ay sa genre ng fantasy at comedy" says Direk Mac. What people should look out for is its lead star; Tasya played by Drama Princess, Yasmien Kurdi said "Heto, po 'yung breather ko. Kung iiyak sa mga dramatic scenes dito naman tawa ka ng tawa. Like 'yung mga sakit sa puso mo nalalabas mo iyak mo na lang. Dito naman tawa ng tawa kaya masaya." The role of Tasya was originally played by Kris Aquino whom Yasmien consulted after accepting the project. So what was Kris' reaction when she found out the Tasya was being revived? "Nag taping kami last year, agad-agad kong tinawagan si Tita Kris sabi ko, I'm gonna do Tasya Fantasya. Sana daw ayusin namin ng mahusay at alam niya na kaya ko daw ito." Yas' ex-love team partner, Rainier Castillo is also happy that he finally gets to reunite with Yas in this very special project. "Siguro yung maganda nilang makikita ay 'yung nagbalik na 'yung tambalan namin. And siguro abangan nila 'yung pinaka-finish product ng Tasya," reveals Rainier. The rest of the cast includes Vangie Labalan, Wendell Ramos and two pregnant ladies: Gladys Reyes and Alicia Mayer. During the press conference, we couldn't help but ask the two pregnant moms about their working environment under their current conditions. "Sa akin wala naman restriction, at saka di naman ako maselan mag buntis. Hindi lang pwede 'yung mga action, may takbuhan, which I think hindi rin naman magkakaroon ng ganoon" shares Alicia. Gladys Reyes on the other hand thanks the people around her, for making work light and easy, "Magaan naman kasi 'yung trabaho namin, parang di nga kami maduguaang taping. Kasi nga mag-kaibigan kami, mag-kakakilala na kami lahat so hindi mabigat yung trabaho." For the rest of the cast, it's all about getting pumped up for fun. One of these is veteran actress Vangie Labalan, "Ang maganda rito, originally ang istorya ay ako po 'yung umapon kay Tasya at malupit ako. Pero may mga gagampanan din akong role sa fantasya na iba, so napaka varied so hanggang ngayon exciting pa rin, walang katapusan ang excitement" shared the talented actress. If some of the actors, love to take it fast and enjoyable, Wendell on the other hand takes this project as an opportunity for improvement. "Tina-take ko po as a challenge lahat ng trabaho na ginagawa ko." Will Tasya be the next Fantaserye hit? Direk Mac believes so, because it's not reality after all, "Ang isang characteristic ng Tasya Fantasya ay ang pagiging whimsical niya, Hindi na po ako magtataka na sabay sa pagtawa niyo ay may kaunting kukurot." -- Text by Alula Love M.
