Actress Sunshine Cruz turns a year older today, July 18.

Over on Instagram, her three daughters, Angelina Cruz, Samantha Cruz, and Chesca Montano, all wrote her a heartfelt birthday greeting on her special day.

Angelina thanked Sunshine for teaching her the meaning of love, respect, and courage.

"To the person who first taught me love, respect, courage, and bravery--not just by words, but by actions and simply being herself. You've taught me so many things like how to love, respect, show courage, and being brave. Imagine all this coming from you, my mom--my best friend."
